Mindly's Product Hunt Launch: Results and Reflections

How Mindly launched on Product Hunt with just 5 hours notice, made it to Top Products of the Day, and what I learned from my first ever launch.

I scheduled the launch just 5 hours before it went live. I quickly wrote the post, submitted it, and added it to a few mailing lists. Then I went to sleep.

By the time I woke up, Mindly was already climbing — and by the end of the day, it had attracted thousands of views, a ton of feedback, and a wave of new users.

We didn't take the #1 spot, Cursor dropped a major new release that same day, so it was basically reserved. However, we still made it to the Top Products of the Day and got featured.

For a solo indie tool built in late nights and weekends, that felt surreal.

What surprised me the most was the curiosity people had around the idea.

Mindly is not something obvious or super niche, it is a second brain that lets you capture anything in a second (voice note, file, idea, task) and then uses AI to automatically organize and connect it with what you already have.

The idea resonated. A lot of people messaged me saying, "I've been wanting something like this but didn't know how to describe it."

And it turns out: when the concept is clear and unique enough, it draws people in.

A few things I learned:

1. Schedule your launch ahead of time

Even a few hours in advance helps. People can bookmark it early, join your email list, and you get that initial momentum from the very start.

2. Check who else is launching that day

I didn't, and Mindly launched on the same day as Cursor's massive new version. It was tough to beat that. Not saying avoid big players, but just be aware.

3. Your network matters more than you think

I got a surprising boost just from friends and people I'd connected with who reposted the launch. I'm seriously grateful for that. Support compounds fast.

4. Non-obvious ideas

Mindly isn't a task manager or a note-taking clone. It's weird enough to make people stop scrolling. That alone drove thousands of clicks. Especially when paired with a clean and clear presentation.

This was my first ever Product Hunt launch. It gave Mindly a solid early boost and opened a lot of doors. If you are working on something cool, I highly recommend launching.
